I am kinda in a Korean feeling right now. So totally in love with Running Man and my favorite tv slot now is in between 6.30-8pm in One HD, for Korean Variety Show.
My one and ONLY example for the day is a story being told while watching the Korean variety show, Strongheart. It's the 100th show actually and there's a lot of famous faces there. Despite the numerous celebrities there, i can only manage to get one good example from them (the others being about love and embarassing mothers). So this story was told by an auntie (idk her name since i only know the younger ones' names), due to her aging career, she's been having a tough time excepting the truth and actually having to stand down from the business. She even thought about killing herself due to the depression. Then one day, while she was surfing through the tv channels, she stumbled upon an airing of the 1968 Olympics.
The marathon was up and while still earlier in the race, one marathoner suddenly ran into another and ended up seriously being injured. His knee bleed and his joints were torn. The paramedics advised him to stay down as he could not possibly continue the marathon without inflicting serious circumstances towards his own body. However, seeing the other participants fading away from his view, he suddenly rose up and continued the marathon. He bled heavily during the whole 3 and a half hours journey and finally succeeded to the finishing line, and literally falls to his knees. Despite being about an hour later than the others, some group of spectators still waited for him and cheered for him as he got to the finishing line. Being in the last place from the 57 participants succeeded to the finish lines, out of the 75 total participants actually gave him more happiness than sadness. When interviewed later on on why he decided to continue with the marathon despite the injuries, he coolly answered "My country did not send me 10,000 miles just to start the race; they sent me to finish the race".
Because of this person, the elderly Korean celebrity stopped being depressed and actually felt thankful of what God has given her. Nowadays, she gladly joins any drama portraying even minor roles just so that she can keep doing what she loves. THE END.
Quite touching right? However, to be frank, my first impression was "OH! That's where all the script writers got their ideas from". Yalah, look at Karate Kid where Jaden Smith continued fighting with the kick *ss Chinese Kungfu genius despite having a broken leg! (I actually do have a long list, but couldn't think of another one, just right now. LOL!). Right?
All in all, inspirational stories like that actually does keep us going. So to those depressed people out there,
Y U NO WATCH INSPIRATIONAL MOVIES!
