Scream me out

(Tick on Going to a Concert from my bucket list)

Today was Pixie Lott's showcase at 1Borneo. And i went to it! The tix was given to me by my bestest best friend everrrr, eventhough we had a great fight last week. At the end of the day, all is forgiven laa because of the tix best friends ndak bagus gaduh lama2. Just kidding! Hehe!

And because of my bestest best friend everrr, i had the chance to experience in coming late to a concert, jumping up and down while shouting in public, had a late night coffee with one of my old friend from matric (in which, is a sport!not a dull moment with her during the showcase), and coming home late (unintentionally, i might add).

Pixie was late, about 40 minutes. But her voice was not disappointing. It's like, you can't even differentiate between her recording and live singing. Nearrrly bought her CD but since there was a long line of admirers, i canceled my niat baik and decided to be a pirate instead. Here are two of the pix that i took using my sad-excuse-for-a-handphone-in-which-i-regretted-not-bringing- the-ipad-instead.

of Mother's Day and Ukulele

Hey peeps! Today is the 2nd Sunday of May and obviously, la fete des meres or Mother's Day!

I've been reading about the rumours spreading FB that mother's day was supposed to be banned due to it's origin where the ancient Romans were the first one celebrating it to honor the Greek gods or something. And yes, my facts are not precise since romans and greeks don't actually mix well. Romans schmomans, greek schmreeks~~

Anyhooo, me and my siblings had a surprise for mum just then. Me We actually ordered the cake yesterday but asked the shop keeper to keep it in the fridge as to not spoil the surprise for today. Very sneaky aren't we? Mom was actually surprised! But nobody had the appetite to eat such sweet high-in-glucose cake accept for my niece. In which, she ate two! with me feeding her at the side.
the cake says happy mother's day to Mama from Abg, Ila & Ica
with a slight smeared parts due to me running to the fridge so as mom can't see me putting the cake in

The cake is a strawberry snippets (which i don't know what it means). Also got free red carnation along with the cake.

Speaking of Ukuleles (who? who said it?), I had the sudden urge in learning how to play a musical instruments since I finished my bachelor's. With all the plentiful time at my hands (and yeah, you can also include the Msc taking, if you waaant to), I just had to occupy my brain with another activity to keep both sides active. You know, the right and left brain theory? Where the left brain is for logical thinking, the right brain is for creativity. Well, all work (reading gazillions journals and writing theses) and no play makes me a little blurry about everything else except my work, and that is my first world problem.

Hence the ukulele! Began looking for it in KK's musical instruments stores to meet  huge bumps on the road.  Either it's too cheap (price is good but the quality is tsk, tsk, tsk), or it's too expensive. No in betweens. Therefore, my final solution was to look for it online and found one! It's not too cheap but it is quite cheap actually. It is a concert size (ukulele has four sizes, soprano, concert, trenor and baritone in ascending size) and costs a hundred something. With post. So, wish me luck with my ukulele and maybe, i might be one of those youtubers uploading videos of me playing the ukulele while singing somewhere over the rainbow. Perhaps?

This old guy here is superb! I prefer this vid since it's an old guy singing an old song as opposed to youg ppl singing it like a pop song.

That's all for this post. Wish me luck with my new ukulele that hopefully will be received by this new week.

Benefit of reading 9gag

You know the Airasia tagline, "now everyone can fly"? By reading 9GAG, now everyone can read Hangul, the korean alphabet!

Credits to 9GAG (duh!)..

Books!

Had some shopping spree this past week (credits to le scholarship), and as usual, the biggest splurge was on books! Here's some of the stuff that i bought.

Quite pricey but at the same time, very tempting. Can't not buy. Came across a story about a baby elephant who'd lost his mother (who fell off a cliff!) and was surrogated-mom by a sheep!

Saw a post in 9gag way back from the earlier premier of Hunger Games about the similar plot line between the two. Can't resist proving it myself.

The sequel to the book below, in which i've already read last year and was sooooo mesmerizing, so to not buy the sequel is a sin! Also a story of a Dystopian society like Hunger Games.

A reading ring, to kick start my book marathon!!

And last but not least,

a crossword puzzle
to sharpen up my mind! Kids, education is important!

That's all for the book entry.

P.s: Don't throw away the book receipts because ur sis might need it for income tax or something.
