Dengue @ Denggi

Ahoy everyone! I know today's Wednesday but i rarely do the wordless Wednesday posts jugak, so what the heck la kan. I am writing about Demam Denggi today in the hopes of raising awareness among us all. Yalah, we just ever heard of Denggi but we don't even know the symptom and apa lagi how to prevent it.

just looking at it actually gives me goosebumps!

As we all might know, the vector for demam denggi is nyamuk Aedes. When i was small, i used to think that nyamuk aedes is the vector for AIDS. Oh my, how silly of me. Anyhoooo, (back to the story) only female nyamuk Aedes is the vector. Actually they are the only one who's biting! The male ones just fly2 around and feast on nectars instead. (Yes! Male mosquitos are equivalent to the Cullens, a "VEGAN"). Place most likely effected with this epidemic is mostly the Tropics, and yes, Malaysia is one of them.

Did you know that we couldn't really identify it if we caught the dengue on the earlier stage. However, demam yang berlarutan and tidak pandai baik2 is one of the symptoms. There will be bright red rashes all around the body, most likely on the lower part of the body. And it is excruciatingly painful in the joints and muscles. And the most important fact about denggi is, there's no vaccine for it. However, drinking lots of water does help.

How to prevent it? Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Buang air bertakung to prevent further breeding of the mosquitoes. And do the occasional fogging too!

This post is actually dedicated to my BFF Fatien who's in Darul Ehsan Medical Centre right now due to the Dengue fever. I hope you'll recover soon Tien!! Pray for her aight..
