happy for a bad news=(

am i such a bad person that i can be happy for other ppl's unhappiness??

i heard a great(bad for others,good for me) news today while i was sulking..dunno whether it's true or not..in my heart, i know it's true..y should ppl lie abt things like that??but in my otak,i think it was just a distraction for me to stop sulking..soooooooooo..i dunno what to percaya..but if btol2 btol,im the baddest person for today because je suis contente!!!y bad?because it's suppose to be a sad news..
